White.

When it comes to decor, every one's first thought is colour. What can I colour? Where can I use the colour? Crap, we used way too much colour!

As soon as you get into renting linens, napkins, and chair covers etc. your costs are going to go up. Granted there are a select few basic colours that you are usually able to go with at an included or lower price (dependant on agreement you have with your venue and their suppliers)

The same concept goes for florals. As soon as you start requesting the red roses, or the dip-dyed hues your cost goes up, your tables look a little tacky, and nothing matches anything.

So all I ask, before you pick every shade of violet and sunny yellow, try out the white. I know your thinking white is so drab..blah..ughh. But you can get linen overlays for your table, you can get twinkly chargers and mirrors, and chalkboards, pretty votifs, candles, WHITE florals (less expensive) glass, twinkly lights, and paper lanterns. I'm not saying that list above doesn't look good with green or navy, because it can. It just tends to look better with white.

Take a look at the pix below (courtesy of 100 Layer Cake) and decide for yourself.

Lo.
