On the beach.

I don't really need to write much for this post. This pictures say most of what I want to relay. I'm not a wedding planner. I stick to corporate and fundraising events. However, I have recently started with few weddings and showers. If I had to choose locations for the next wedding I do, and the couple was willing Carmel Beach would definitely be my #2 choice. (Oahu is my #1).

Em Le's.

Who doesn't like breakfast? I really enjoy breakfast, I think I could eat it for every meal, all the time, maybe with calamari (which is my second favourite). MMM. Anyway back to Carmel, I found this breakfast place called Em Le's. Located in downtown Carmel, this little joint is very well known for their awesome breakfasts and other goodies.
Their extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, are made only with the freshest LOCAL ingredients.

They also offer a vast array of wines from California and from around the world.

f you be chance happen to pop in to Em Le's anytime soon, you must must try the MIXED SEAFOOD OMELETTE or the FRENCH TOAST which is almost like a deep fried sort of toast with icing sugar. Yeah I know, your drooling. Best thing about the toast, it comes with a peach cup.

Check out the pics below, and go quickly while your cholesterol is still good!

That's some french toast right there!

Forest Lodge.

With over 6 different rooms to choose from, Forest Lodge is one of the most hidden and exquisite treasures in all of Carmel. This eco-conscious resort of awesomeness fits only 18 guests. 18 people in the whole resort sounds pretty incredible to me.

Less people = More Vacation

The neat thing about this resort is you can do a group booking. However, you do have to make the reservation up to 6 months in advance. You can have your own couples retreat, minus Vince Vaughn and the sexy yoga instructor (encouragement!)

If you plan a trip to Carmel, try and stay here, I promise you will fall in love with this inn by the sea.

Check these beauty pics out! Maybe, make a comment...anybody..?

Wedding White.

Theme and Colour Schemes can be a pretty tricky thing to decide on. Whether it be a wedding, dinner-party or social event, theme is always the hardest to decide on as there are an endless amount of options. My personal theme would be simple. Although, I love the idea of the outrageous masquerade and salsa caliente it becomes a lot more expensive and waaaay more complicated to pull it off. My favourite theme is "white". Most commonly seen in weddings, (duhh, weddings are usually white. Unless your marrying that vampire chick from the Bachelor. In that case good luck!) the simple white on white gives the feel of sophistication, elegance and beauty.
Check out these pictures I pulled from Austin Wedding Blog.

La Playa.

So I found this hotel! Remember how I always say "I fell in love"? This time I really did; with the hotel that is.
The La Playa Hotel in Carmel, is a little bit quaint and a lot fancy. It was originally a mansion that was constructed in the 1920's, which eventually was made over in hopes to enhance the property. La Playa now offers 4 different types of suites, one of these being your own private cottage-by-the-sea. Drooling yet?
As far as venue space goes. They have a tonne of options. Five different banquet rooms reside in La Playa with space seating up to 120 in some. My favourite is the Fireside Room. This room sits only 20 for reception but has an awesome mix of rustic and edgy decor.
I highly recommend the La Playa Hotel for anyone in the Carmel area or for tourists heading that way. It would really make for the perfect vacation hotel, and beautiful event venue.

La Bicyclette.

La Bicyclette, has to be the quaintest and most delicious restaurant in all or Carmel. the European menu comforts all taste buds. Its a cute rustic little place, that makes you feel like you've travelled to the South of France. The best meal by far has to the beef with Gorgonzola and red wine sauce. I promise it will not disappoint!

Points for decor La Bicyclette.

Carmel.

As promised, I came back. I also decided on a new destination to talk about. Having done the California trip twice, I have seen the hustle of L.A. and Santa Barbara. On my last trip there coming home from Australia, the fam and family friends hid out in Carmel. It was one of the most beautiful spots by the sea, that I have ever been to. It has some of the best restaurants, cutest inns and great beaches. Check out these pics and get acquainted. First Carmel venue, coming up soon.
