so.

So its what 3 days till' Christmas? Woah...
This could be my last post until after Christmas, not sure yet. I do have the rest of the week off so I might be able to get in a few good posts. I have to say I'm a big Christmas fan. Like huge! I mean I started on the all-Christmas radio station in mid-november. A bit sick? I know!

My favourite part of Christmas has to be the lights. Yes, I love seeing family and friends and hanging around in my pj's all day, but the Christmas lights are just so twinkly and I like things that twinkle.

Here are a few of my favourite Christmas light displays. Enjoy!

P.S. If I'm not back before the holidays. Merry Christmas whoever you are

Shots. Shots. Shots.

For me, jello shooters were always a fun, semi-tacky thing to have at a birthday party, shower or even a tacky farm ho-down (yes I have been to one). Then, as I was getting my Friday morning blog and diet-Pepsi fix I came across some of the prettiest jello shots EVER. I didn't even know jello came in these flavours, let a lone colours. That's probably because I only ever buy the highlighter green colour/flavour. :) Check out these beauty jello shooters from The Austin Wedding Blog.

Sweet Tables.

Sweet tables, are probably the best part of a wedding. But, why not just have one at every event. Or every little dinner party you throw. Check out these sweet tables, or try creating a new concept.

...

So I'm on hiatus which means I am extremely busy at work, and being my mom's cookie baking bitch. Merry Christmas, Bahumbug.

For now, even though I have yet to choose a place and discuss fantastical venues, I wanted to share this little gem of a Toronto venue with you. I found out about them by chance, and was so glad to stumble upon quite possibly the coolest place in Toronto.

Located on Snooker Ave. The Spherical Academy of Arts is a large pool hall, restaurant, entertainment venue and bar.

Its rustic hardwood flooring, antique pool tables, slanted bar and colourful area rugs really make this place feel very comfytrendy (my new word).

I posted a few pics above, hope you like the place. If you get a chance to get down there, go for brunch, their spiced tortilla omelet is awesome!

Rock n Rolla.

Cool theme idea: Rock and Roll

I never really considered this as a pretty theme. I thought it to be a more grunge, ripped t-shirt , beer smelling kind of affair. Which are usually just as awesome. But I found this wedding the other day on one of my early morning wedding blog/coffee binges and fell in love. Which i know i do a lot on here, but cmonnnn how can you not?! Here are a few snapshots of this beautiful Rock and Roll wedding. Check out the full wedding at Green Wedding Shoes

Shutter down.

Even though I had a full Friday off....I still didn't find time to blog. Fail! Anyways, NOLA or New Orleans is shut down, and I'm looking into the next destination. I'm feeling Bahamas...any thoughts?

On Friday night, I attempted more Christmas shopping (I'm almost done) however I really just ended up watching people Christmas shop for me...kinda ruins the surprise don't ya think? Regardless, I was in Club Monaco, and snapped the coolest idea for an event that I have seen in a long time, and I mean lonnggg time.

Clipping display items on clipboards..so simple..and looks pretty chic, and neat! I like neat. As great as it works in the store, I think it would be great and event. Maybe a new approach to a silent auction, or displaying jewellery at an auction? Even grabbing place cards at a wedding.

Just thinking out loud as per usual.

Maybe someone could comment out loud..

Generations Hall.

Generations Hall has got to be one of the most modern venues in NOLA. Sectioned into three main rooms (Metro 1, Metro 2, and The Big Room) it can accommodate any sort of group and or function. It is also complete with state of the art sound, video and av technology. Another cool thing about this venue is that the audio tech will design a set (music and lighting) to go with your event. I know you can usually get that everywhere, but its a nice added bonus!

Jars #2.

I know I have talked about mason jars, and old cans before, but I just can't help myself. They are such simple things that can be made to look so pretty and quaint. So a few more pictures of mason jars isn't going to hurt. Right?
These photos are from a vintage wedding (myfav) stolen from Green Wedding Shoes (myotherfav)

Enjoy.

Falling behind.

I have clearly been falling behind on my posts. I don't know if anyone is actually reading/viewing but if you are. Apologies! I have been mega times busy, have had about ten hours of sleep this whole week and I feel like death. I did however have a chance to spend the weekend up north in Caledon. It was a quiet change from the city, and did me well. I also got some beauty Christmas presents for myself! My mom needed help picking them out :D

I will be back, with the last week of New Orleans and its prettiful venues. Trying to think of the next city...any ideas? Anyone? Beuler....

Audobon Nature Institute

Ok, So I got back to it Tuesday. Mondays are not the best days of the week, momentum wise. On a better note, I found a great zoo in NOLA which also acts as a beautiful venue space for a private event or wedding.
The Audobon Nature Institute, is actually 10 parks, museums and recreational spaces combined. They of course have a zoo which is amongst the best in the world. They house animals from all over the world and do their best to recreate their natural habitats. They also have the Audobon Aquariam which is located across from the French Quarter. Here you get to see those cutey little penguins that everyone "awwwws" at .

Also found at the Audobon Nature Institute is an Insectarium (which I won't go near) , and Imax Theatre, 3 parks, Audobon Golf Course and multiple cafes.
In terms of special events. This facility can host any kind of outdoor, indoor, private, corporate and wedding you can think of. For Weddings they have over 8 different locations. My two favourite are the aqarium and the tea room. For Corporate events they have about 12 different venues. They even offer a Louisana Swamp Exhibit Outdoor Ballroom which is by far the prettiest and coolest thing ever.

So if your ever in NOLA...

Visit Audobon Nature Institute...Try and see all of it if you have the time!

Off days.

So I skipped a day. Kill me. Do you ever have those days where you just don't feel like typing ? Do professional bloggers get them?

I have been busy this week, with not a free night as of yet. Friday is my first day off from work, which means no computers, just shops and a lovley hotel stay at the Four Seasons with MOM and SISTER. :)

I promise on Monday. I will get back to it.

For now, here's a photo that best describes my mood.

Carnival.

Bits and bites of my favorite carnival/circus theme. I will never tire of this one, so just get used to it.

Creole.

Since 1905 Galatoires has remianed one of the most elegant restaurants in New Orleans. Nestled on Bourbon St., Galatoires honours tradition and NOLA customs in a variety of different ways. For one, they don't change their menu, they really stick to the good stuff. Another interesting thing about Galatoires is that the staff take their time to get to know their regulars. They also have a huge menu with a delicious array of foods. MMMM

Tucks.

Tucks Mardi Gras Krewe is probably one of the biggest and most fun parades that takes place during Mardi Gras. Although a parade is an event that im not exactly farmiliar with executing, it does seem like a pretty awesome event to be a part of. The Tucks Krewe began in 1969 formed by a group of Loyola University students. Since then it has grown to be one of the most humurous daytime parades that stretches through the downtown core of New Orleans.
Basically people, its time to hightail it on to a Tucks float and get down, get down!

Where's Waldo?

Check out this video of Tucks Krewe parading in 2010:

Movember.

You should really try out this moustache favour thing. It seems a little cheesy and a tad immature, but it will totally lighten up your wedding or party. That is if it needs lightening up. Could you imagine your mom with a killer stash!
