SPRING.

Spring is here! Well sort of.... I'm not sure you would call this erratic weather Springy. But hey, what the hell!
I found this great spring decor on 100 Layer Cake (see left side bar) and the colours are quite poppin!

The brights, and florals are really quite pretty.

Timba.

So were moving on over to Maui. I'm going to do posts about everywhere in Hawaii, because you all should really explore this whole Island. I tend to be very picky when I am looking for event venues, they have to have a certain ambiance to them, and sometimes I feel the better the website, the better the venue might be. I know its not good to judge a book by its cover, but you all do it.

Getting to the point. I came across this great space/nightclub called Timba. Its as beautiful outside as it is on the inside. This place is really one of the best spots to hit when your in Maui. I mean you can dance to world renown dj's, and drink and see and smell the ocean, how many places can you do that at?

Timba is open to the public for regular club nights on Fridays and Saturdays only. If you are to book a private, corporate or social event with them, they will open according to your schedule. Timba's space has been used for a number of fashion shows, private parties and wedding receptions. In addition, they have a wedding coordinator and event planner on staff to help you with all you needs. They ensure the best production materials for any type of event.

PS. They also have a really great wine and champagne list, as well as Mixologist on staff. WHAT?

Please, Please, Please head to Timba the experience is one to remember.

Beach Affair.

I was searching and searching for pictures of an event or wedding on the beach, and of course there are lots, but the majority of them tend to be extremely tacky with way too much colour. I finally found a beautiful one on Style Me Pretty. (PS. they have a mag coming out, you people should look into that). Please take a look at these pics! Enjoy!

Chef Mavro.

"George Mavrothalassitis is chef/proprietor of Honolulu’s top-rated Chef Mavro restaurant and holds the prestigious James Beard award, considered the “Oscars” of the culinary world. He is a founding member of Hawaii Regional Cuisine."  (www.chefmavro.com)

OK! So Chef Mavro. Obviously from reading what I quoted above this restaurant is pretty cutting edge and delicious. I have heard amazing things about this restaurant, and hope to get there within the next year. At present moment Chef Mavro can only accommodate 70 in terms of in-house event space, but they do offer a wide variety of catering formats, that you can include at your events.

Event Catering w. Chef Mavro:

- Everything is cooked "fresh to order" , this is not your average banquet hall fare.
- They can accommodate 2 - 1000 guests.

Available Catering Formats:

- Cocktail Receptions - Booth size, serving hor'dourves
- Gala's (table service)
- Cooking Station (stroll around events)
- Team Building Events - (what staff wouldn't love you after this delicious feast)
- Food and Wine Pairing Events - Includes blind tastings, and decadent pairings.
- On location cooking demos
- Weekend in the country with Chef Mavro - a unique hands on cooking experience including meals and    tours with Chef Marvro.

As you can see this restaurant definitely reaches new heights in terms of event services, and incredible meals. I have included a link to the menu below, I didn't want everyone to salivate on their keyboards, so feel free to view it on your own time.

Please, if you ever find yourself in Honolulu, head to Chef Mavro and let me know your thoughts!

View deliciousness here.

Luau List.

Things you need to throw your in Luau:

* Warm Weather (Canadians chill out until June)
* Lei's (plastic ones you get at any Dollar Store or Party Supply Store, if you want to go all out and get real ones, make sure you  have a florist connection - Thank you grandma!)
* Fire ( torches will do, unless you can find a group of tanned men with six-packs which will allow you to have awesome fire dancers - don't forget the ankle bracelets!)
* Hawaiian Music ( or a a cute scene kid playing a ukulele, either or will work)
* Booze (I would stick with the traditional cocktails - Pina-Colada, Daiquiris, Mai Tai's etc. They will give it a more island feel)
* Food ( I don't expect everyone to roast a pig on a spit, unless of course you come from a Euro family like I do in which case let it burn. However, if your not into a large animal on a stick, go with BBQ chicken, skewers, veggies, fish and lots of pineapple. Pineapple tastes good with everything)
* Attire (Women if your feeling daring and don't mind the breeze, try the grass skirt and coconut bra, or stick to your bathing suit and wrap. Men take that shirt that we all know is hidden in the back of your closet, you know the one your dying to break out at soon as the temperature hits 0 degrees? Throw that on, for one day only.)

I think I pretty much covered everything. Comment and let me know if there is anything I missed.

Turtle Bay Resort.

Aloha! So last time I was in Hawaii, I rented a house instead of staying at a hotel. It was different, but turned out to be a great two weeks! Oahu and the north shore is pretty stunning, and I promise you would never want to leave that stretch of beach. I chose to post about Turtle Bay Resort, because it is one of the most talked about resort chains, as well as it was in my fave movie, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".... ( I seriously could watch this over and over again, all day - how cute is Jason Segal?)

So here is Turtle Bay Resort, and please if for some odd reason you haven't seen the above movie, or been to Hawaii, get on it.

Turtle Bay Resort, boasts some serious space. I'm talking 5 miles of beachfront, that entitles guests to so many activities(i.e. surfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, swimming, etc.) its crazy!

With over 443 rooms, Turtle Bay offers your choice of a Cottage, Villa, guest room and/or suite.

In terms of event space, Turtle Bay has definitely got it. They boast a total of 28,000 sq feet of space, which can host parties of about 400. They have the latest in technology including high-def video conferencing, lighting and av capabilities, and an all day conference concierge. When running meetings, or conferences they also host an all day refreshment kiosk!

Ball Rooms: Kahuku Ballroom, Kuilima Ballroom and the Sunset Room
(Each of these rooms can be divided and made smaller as per request)

Outdoor Alternative: The beautiful grounds that Turtle Bay calls home can host events for up to 2000 people. The weddings and parties that can be done on these grounds have the perfect backdrop, which as you know means less $$$ on decor.

Hope you all get a chance to experience Turtle Bay. Enjoy the below pictures.
