Snazzzy Settings.

I think that I am done with Tofino! Sorry if you weren't. Can I just do one more post on table settings and potentially some more antique bottles that I heart so much!?

I'm not asking, I'm going to post about them anyway.

Tip: Great place to find these : HOMESENSE..I was there last week, plethora of birdcages, tinted glass, and tonnes of other stuff that I put in the cart and then had to pace myself and take it out.

Have a great weekend!

Tea Party.

I used to tea party when I was little. I remember having one in nursery school, with the stuffed football, and creepy doll who's one eye rolled back in her head every time she had a sip of tea.

Since then, I have changed...I hope. Come to think of it so have tea parties.
Fancy dresses, antique cups and saucers, finger sandwiches make for a great time with your ladies and offer a sort of quaint and aristocratic kind of event. I might just have to have one!

Idea: Tea Party themed event/wedding? Just a thought I really happen to enjoy.

Benedict Brunch.

Just an extra little tidbit, that I stole from 100 Layer Cake. This is a totally cute idea for a small wedding or a little sunday morning brunch party.

Ocean Village.

Hola readers! I have been busy-busy with work. Which is my excuse for not blogging. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their long weekends! I did :)

I'm still not exactly finished with Tofino yet. There are a couple of venues that I would till like to talk about. Today is all about Ocean Village. This resort would be better explained using visuals because it is that amazing. I feel like I might tear it up if I start mumbo jumboing about it. But for you, I will give it a try.

Ocean Village, remains the original family-surf resort in Tofino BC. It sits right in between beach and the beautiful pacific rim. For those unfamaliar with the Pacific Rim, think "Twilight" In regards to rooms, Ocean Village offers affordable and very roomy cottages starting at roughly $100 per night. Seriously? Why am I in Toronto? They offer both one and two bedroom cottages as well as a studio cottage. Hello lone surfers!

Check out the pictures below. I love it, its a cozy place to go. Enjoy peeps!

Cox Bay Beach Resort.

Sooo..sorry I missed a day! Still talking about Tofino here, just to keep people in the loop. I mentioned a while back that Tofino is like Canada's California..remember? This has a lot to do withe surf culture, bleach blondes and awesome relax-a-vibe you get from Tofino residents.

Cox Bay Beach Resort is that perfect place for the younger travellers that want to surf, maybe makeout with some surfers...hehehe...and learn how to chill out.

Accomodations:

Cox Bay offers over 40 beach resorts (1 - 2 bedrooms) that let me just tell you are beautifully decorated. In addition, thay have a central lounge and fitness centre with a sauna overlooking the mountains (killer), wifi, and kitchen.

Sounds pretty good right?

Pastel Pretty.

Despite the nasty weather Toronto has been enduring, it's still spring, sort of...and pastels are springy. I'm not necessarily your pastel kind-of-girl, more of an all black but I have my moments. So take a peek at these pretty pastel colours, and dress up your wedding or event.

So sweet.

Wildside Grill.

Natural Foods from natural dudes. Always fresh. Always Wild. So it says on their website! As I was doing my morning Tofino google searches, I stumbled upon Wildside Grill. It looked like a nifty little place, so I decided to show it some luvv.

This place is serious about fresh. I mean the fish goes straught from the boat to your meal. Firsherman Jeff Mikus and chef Jesse Blake are the two awesome dudes responsible for the best fish and chips the west coast has to offer.

Check our their menu here

Simple Cinco.

This Cinco De Mayo look, is pretty, not to mention extremely simple. I dig it! I think it sends out a good vibe, no stress, lots of time to socialize, relaxing, fun sort of surf and turf. No? Am I crazy talking? To get to the point, I think a wedding or event like this would be way more enjoyable than having all the added structure and scheduling. :D

Food.Wine.Shelter

Food. Wine. Shelter - the basics...right? That's what Shelter Restaurant says, "we offer the basics." Sounds pretty darn good to me. Located in Tofino BC, Shelter not only offers beautiful food but incredible views as well!

Using all organic ingredients, and fresh meat and fish, Shelter is able to create some of the most scrumptious dishes. I'm talking like, drool while menu reading scrumptious. My favourite has to be the pan-seared local wild salmon with local spot prawn risotto, and apple honey beurre blanc. GOSHH!

Shelter has gotten some awesome reviews, if your the type of person that has to read the all the reviews and comments on a restaurant before you go there. There ya go Dad!

Cool idea - Shelter Restaurant's website (click here) also offers a 30 second update surf cam! Uhhh super gnarrly right? :D

Long Beach Lodge, Tofino.

I know I said we'd talk about Tofino venues, and I will, but for right now I'm going to go a little out of Tofino, about 7km to be exact. Long Beach Lodge, located near Cox Bay, is an amazing little spot to vacation. It boasts 41 rooms and over 20 cottages, and it sits right on the ocean. I mean, cmonnn. Although its a beautiful resort ( pictures will tell all) it also resembles a big cottage. This sounds stupid, but it has a laundry area, barbecue area, dining hall and all the cottage like outdoor activities. What I'm trying to say is its both "ritzy" and comfortable, for better lack of terms.

Now for my favourite aspect, in terms of an event venue this is not the place to have your 200 person wedding, or AGM of 100 people. Their biggest room, which is the Long Beach Room holds about 35 people seated. If your really in love with the Lodge, and your interested in a hosting a bigger event, you would have to move it outdoors to either the rainforest or the beach, which are some pretty decent options.

Cuisine : Your on the west coast, there for sure will be seafood. Fresh seafood! Long Beach Lodge uses only the freshest produce and natural ingredients. There menu for all meals looks ridiculously good. Check it out here.

If your in Tofino, or headed out that BC way, make a stop here, you will love it, your family will love it and well, I will be jealous.

Stumped.

So, I'm stumped for choosing a new destination. Which is why I haven't posted in about a week. FAIL! I've asked everyone if they had an opinion or maybe even a place they'd like to see, and everyone says the same thing, England! Wann Wann. I know the Royal Wedding just happened, and its a big event, and yatta yatta yatta, but I'm just not feeling it.

After alot of mulling I finally came to a decision, its going to be a small location, and probably won't generate too many posts, but its beautiful, its relaxing, you could almost say its like Canada's Laguna Beach minus LC. Tofino, BC is a great city with some of the most beautiful views around.

More to come on Tofino.
