Spread the Love.

I wanted to first apologize for the blasts of Polyvore posts I've done in the past two days. I just can't seem to stop, its a very addictive site, and a great outfit planner! Check it all out here.

We are still in Hawaii, I promise, I am just in the midst of an event at work, so my Hawaii research is on hold, however I will have new posts when I return from vacation  mid-next week. So I promise more aloha-hula next week.

For now, I was thinking back to the very beginning of the blog, and realized that I never posted about take aways or in non-event people terms - gifts for your guests. Take aways are always a big part of my fundraising events, where in you want to say thank you to all your guests that enabled your cause to be supported. They are part of the experience, and a component that will keep guests returning, year after year.

* ...and yes, you give a gift to your wedding guests, at the reception.

There are a wide variety of different items that you can use for this. Anything from wine and chocolates to vases and candles, its totally up to you. You need to remember though that these costs add up quickly, and if your on a budget, the crystal picture frames may not be for you.

If your crafty or a good baker, you can always make a little bag of cookies or a cupcake. My favourite take away to make is jam, hence the "spread the love" title. You can make huge batches of jam pretty for pretty cheap, and small mason jars are quite inexpensive. The tags you can make yourself, using stamps or stencils. It doesn't get much more personal and cuter than that.

Geronimo Balloons.

I was always a true hater of balloon decor. You know the balloon banners that you see at parades, and maybe some really corny events. Yuckk! I hate them.

Then I found Geronimo!!! Geronimo opened its doors last year in Los Angeles, and they have the most intricate and fabulous balloons and fastenings, Ive ever come across. Each balloon order will be hand done, with fastenings that fit your theme, and their not your average balloons, they are awesomely HUGE! I've attached some pictures from their website. Please, Please order me a balloon!

Theme: Love.

I have no idea, why I never thought of this idea. I've done a few bridal and baby showers, and have never ever once thought of the L O V E theme. Duhhhh Lauren Duhhh! That usually tends to be the feeling circling the room at those types of occasions right? I found a great spread of this theme on 100 Layer Cake, and thought I would share it with you.

So I have this event blog. Right? Have I ever actually posted about other event planners? I thought it was a good time to start sharing some juicy tidbits with everyone, starting with Gush. A friend and co-worker of mine recently started up this fantastic-wonderful Wedding and Events Company, Gush. Having worked with one of the owners for over 4 years now, I can tell you that their events aren't short of amazing! If you are getting married or planning a corporate or social event you need to call these ladies. You won't be sorry.

Moo Moo.

Funny title for today's post, but I remembered this place last night, in between periods of sleep and thought I would share it this morning. Moo Moo's was one of the places that looked so jazzy and classy that you almost wanted to go back home and change before you walked in the doors. Since opening in 2005, Moo Moo's has been named one of the finest restaurants on the Gold Coast. They are best known for their steaks, winning awards steadily every year.

So the food is great, literally. The Australian wine they pair with you meal of choice, even greater. The decor however is perfect. The neutral, modern interior is perfect for any business or holiday party. They can even host your wedding reception and cater the dinner to your likes and preferences. Nice right. Their event staff and manager will work with you to create the event your after.

Intro Christmas.

48 Days until Christmas!! I know that's a ways away, but I really love the Christmas Holidays, so I tend to start a little early. I have been listening to the all year long Christmas Online Radio Station, which really just makes the day that much more cheery. I came across this cute Christmas decor, and thought I'd share. Hopefully it will spruce up your day.

As I was doing my usual event blog browsing this morning, I came across an interesting theme on Green Wedding Shoes.  At first I wasn't really into the whole psychedelic, hippie theme, but as I continued to look through the photos, it really grew on me. I don't think I would have gone with so much pink and purples, but the I did like the lack of fear to use all that colour.

A neat addition: More carpets and pillows outside, with the hanging canopies above them

Edible Centres.

I didn't have the time to post about another Florida Venue this morning, so my awesome co-worker, Andrea helped me come up with my next post idea. Edible Centrepieces! Have I mentioned these before?

They are nothing new, and have been created in a many a ways. The best two I have seen are using cookies and cupcakes. (Fruit is also really pretty, but only for a short period of  time. Otherwise it tends to go soggy, and brown)  I have never actually used a cookie or cupcake centrepiece at one of my events, but I have done a cookie bouquet for a flower girl, which although was munched throughout her walk down the isle, it was still pretty awesome, and made for some great photos.

The one thing I like about these centrepieces, is that while they are fun and pretty they almost act as an ice-breaker at tables, and tend to make guests more interactive. Not to mention, you can DIY them to whatever your tastes are. ($ saver).
