The Saint

Coming Midsummer 2010, to the hip Ossington area is The Saint. This neat little gastropub is said to be "a hip and comfortable bar, where you can spend hours with a beer" {Martini Boys}.
Hopefully we can sit there soon , as opening dates have continued to be pushed back.

The Berkley

Nestled in the trendy Liberty Village, sits The Berkley Heritage Event Venue. This complex consists of two spaces, Berkley Church (1871) and the Field House. I've never personally experienced the Field House, except a quick glance in. However, last year I did attend my friend Charlene's wedding at Berkley Church. It was exquisite. The large stained glass windows, and light hard word flooring create an airy and secret-garden like ambience. It is truly a magnificent venue, that offers some a little bit of everything.

Cacao.

Located in the heart of Yorkville MoRoCo Chocolat is absolutely to die for. Go to them, or have them come to you. The MoRoCo Grande room can seat up to 120, and is a great place to go for a bachelorette party. I mean who needs more then chocolate?
Did I mention they also do pairings, in which a specific kind of chocolate is paired with a smooth liquor. Heavenly!
They also do wedding favours. Which is a delicious way to thank your guests.

A hometown start.

Living in Toronto for more then 21 years has allowed me to stumble across many of its treasures. As an event planner I am constantly searching for innovative and interactive venues. My all time favourite venue has to be the St. Lawrence Market. Nestled in the chic King East neighbourhood, this market not only offers over hundreds of culinary vendors, but jewellery and craft vendors as well. I became well acquainted with the St. Lawrence Market while attending George Brown College for two years. It was a home away from home for me, offering quality study time, people watching, delicious gourmet coffee and yes; fried calamari.
What i love most about this Toronto gem, is the upstairs event space. Designed like New York City loft, the upstairs venue space is cozy and warm with brick walls and freshly varnished hardwood floors. The large open concept kitchen is adorned with stainless steel Miele appliances and can be moved to accommodate parties of up to 100 guests.
So, tourists and locals be sure to try the fried calamari with a side of hot sauce at Buster's Sea Cove. As for any event planners, set up a site visit, check out the space, and I promise you wont be disappointed.
